When I checked into our room noticed that our dining table was a bit dirty. Also one of the bathroom has a lose shower head and toilet handle was lose maintenance crew came right way to fix it.

The grounds were amazing and the staff was very friendly. If you like being away from all the tourist stuff then you will love this location. It was quiet and secluded. Everything is a quick ride away.

The reception check in front desk really nice lady but when she checked us in they send you to get your welcome drinks with another person who then asks for your info and it is only to offer you some free stuff that you get if you attend to a breakfast they have for you if you attend to a 1 hr orientation where they show you the property, DONT DO IT!!! SAY NO THANK YOU because to start the breakfast they give you it’s very simple compared to what you paid at their place, we had a poor breakfast at that meeting and it wasn’t one hr it was more then 3 hrs, free activities?? Most of the activities they said are full or not available soon so we ended not going to any activities, my family were waiting and waiting JUST DONT GIVE RHEM YOUR INFO and don’t sign up, it’s just a scam … also the deposit of $400 per room for my stay haven’t been returned to my bank account total of 800 ?other than that the breakfast buffet the one you pay for it it was great, beds were comfortable, pool was nice, gym and spa clean and nice
The harassment to offer you free activities where at the end is not worth your time and money because you get nothing out of it and the timeshares don’t really make sense

I liked the location. It was across, and walking distance to many restaurants and other activities, such as nightlife. There was no need to have a car or pay for taxis.
We could not use the beach on the property, but that was because it was on the Pacific Ocean side of Cabo. However, we were within walking distance to where we could use a beach.

When booking outside resorts for activities staff who trying to sell you not explaining with whole information. Therefore end up paying lots of hidden fee at destination . Also advertise as two and half hour activities. But in reality 15 min activity and driving for two hours and 15 minutes and coming back same time. End up for 15 min activity taking my whole day.

The shower/bathtub configuration was odd and even seemed a little dangerous. The shower had a small step up from the outside, but a large step down into a deep tub. I was very careful, but worried that it was an accident waiting to happen.

The room smelled musty, we aired it out every day and the smell just returned. Two other couples that were with staying there with us had the same smell. Not sure whether it is due to the humidity from the off-peak rainy season. Running the AC at high continuously also helped alleviate it, but the room got too cold.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. We chose Playa Grande Resort to celebrate my son’s first birthday, expecting a smooth and enjoyable vacation. Instead, we were met with nothing but dishonesty and a complete lack of integrity.
They market their packages as “all-inclusive,” but this is an outright scam. During our stay, we ordered room service while our kids were napping and missed meals at the restaurants. We assumed this would be covered under the all-inclusive plan. To our shock, at checkout, we were slapped with extra charges for nearly everything we ordered—including basic items like coffee! Apparently, their version of “all-inclusive” has a laundry list of hidden exclusions that are never disclosed in their advertisements or policies.
This resort is NOT a 5-star property as advertised. It’s a mediocre 4-star at best, and they failed to inform us of this beforehand. For a 4-star experience, you’d think they’d at least offer some transparency and honesty, but they fell completely short on both fronts.
It’s appalling that they would lie so blatantly, ruining what was supposed to be a memorable trip for our family. This was our first and will absolutely be our LAST time staying here. If you value honesty, good service, and an actual all-inclusive experience, avoid this place at all costs.

We had high expectations for Playa Grande Resort, believing it to be a premium, high-end property, but unfortunately, our stay fell short.
The bed and pillows were uncomfortably hard, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The gym was in poor condition, with many machines broken or worn out. Additionally, the wait staff repeatedly insisted on tips, despite a 15% service charge already added to the bill, claiming that the service charge does not go to them.
We were offered a complimentary room upgrade, only to later find a $75 charge for it, which was both misleading and disappointing. Overall, the resort did not meet the standard we expected for the price, and we left feeling let down.

The room was very nice. Our suite accommodated a family of 4 with a sofa bed and a separate fold out cot so that our teens didn't have to share a bed. The cleaning staff did an excellent job. Our view was a pool / partial ocean view and it was lovely. I liked the hotel facilities - the quantity of pools, restaurants, and bars. The sushi / sashimi / ceviche options were excellent. The beach is very quiet and immaculately clean, although you have to go to a nearby beach if you want to swim in the ocean. They throw weekly parties on the beach and ours was a blast - great entertainment, good food.
While the staff were friendly, the service was very slow, particularly for dinners and check-in. The hot water in the shower was inconsistent, although the water pressure was great. The outdoor hot tubs were fine, but I would have preferred hotter water (at least for the adult-only hot tubs).

The location of the hotel is good, close to everything. The pool area is excellent, as is the beach area. The food at the pool is excellent and they have happy hour at the pool bar. The service is excellent.
The rooms are very old, the beds and furniture are super uncomfortable.

The resort is beautiful. Breakfast was awesome too. They cleaned our rooms everyday. Polite was very polite.
Maria working at the front desk put us in a room in the basement where we had to take two elevators and go up the hill. The doors were slamming. Our room 3049 had mold. We complained to Maria and she did not move us saying there were no other rooms. We were later moved to a different room 1122 by a gentleman Angel.

It was generally a nice experience to have especially for a big family with kids. We booked 3 rooms total and requested a room close together but since it wasn't available they put us in a penthouse for one night which was very cool!
Also, we thought we booked for the all-inclusive feature but turned out we didn't upon checking in so we had to pay $120 per adult to avail it.
The beach in front of the resort is not swimmable/no one is allowed to swim which was a bummer but there's a beach close by near the Marina, about 10mins walk. A number of pools are an alternative and bars everywhere in the resort for our drinks!
Love that the resort is super close to the Marina and everything is close by.
We enjoyed that with the all-inclusive we didn't have to think where to go for food, esp with kids in tow. They got 4 restaurants (buffet breakfast, steakhouse, sports bar, and The Ridge). Staff are all very nice but they expect tips everywhere.
We loved the Mexican fiesta on Monday Night, we has so much fun!!

The resort prices are in USD and not in Mexican peso.
Hidden fees and add ons for the activities.
People will try to haggle and make a deal to make money.
You cannot swim on the beach in front of resort, it is not allowed.
Sheets and towels are a little rough.

We loved our stay at Playa Grande! Everything from the rooms to the pools to the staff. The staff were exceptional. It truly felt like we were in paradise. Gorgeous gardens and pools. We had a blast and will stay here again when we come back to cabo.
We didn't do AI because we like exploring other restaurants and bars. The prices are expensive if you order drinks and food poolside but it's that way at every resort.

I liked the location and the deluxe suite that we stayed in, in particular. Our deluxe suite (one room, pull out Murphy bed in living room and two bathrooms which was great) had its own separate pool area which other parts of the resort did not have access to which I appreciated because it didn’t feel crowded. We were also walking distance from the downtown/center area by the pier and the night clubs/bars/restaurants. Staff were super nice, friendly and accommodating. Would definitely go back.
I wish we had more food options on the property. We had to make reservations for two out of the three places, and the food took a really long time to serve.

The staff was pleasant, the location near the marina was nice but had to walk to swim at the beach. The pools and hot tubs were nice and there were some good activities. The room was quiet (we were also 2 elevators away and in a basement level). There was a nice gym.
I've read other reviews so I would just say BE PREPARED to pay for everything. We got the breakfast inclusive, because we like to go out and check out the town. We had breakfast inclusive and were wrongly informed that we could get breakfast at all the restaurants - just check that - we got charged 150.00 the first am because we went to the wrong restaurant. I would assume that breakfast would include coffee (typical) and bottled water but we were charged 7.00 for a coffee the first day and for two bottled waters (another 10.00). Once we learned that, we started to fill up our waters at the gym (I understand paying for water, but when you get breakfast included this should be part of the deal). The advertising is a little misleading - "ocean front" but not swim-able. I was fine walking to Merdano beach (about 15 min away) but if you have kids that don't want to walk, a shuttle is 30.00 round trip. They also advertise all these amenities (we were excited to try mini golf and play tennis) but those are extra fees. Our daughter was celebrating spring break and stayed at Riu, they paid for all inclusive, got free bottled waters, and food throughout the day. If you pay for all inclusive, don't expect snacks or other food for kids throughout the day - you will be charged. If you do stay here, I saw many people take a shuttle to the grocery store to stock up which we ended up doing. There is a nice kitchen and we boiled water every am so we didn't have to buy bottled water. The restaurants here are expensive and I would recommend going to any where on the marina or on the beach. Food not that great.
We also tried to cancel our room the last three nights, and Booking would only let us cancel for two nights, but we needed a 3 night min to stay anywhere else. So Booking was not that helpful in this endeavor - as much as we use them!

It is beautiful and in the perfect location. It is very much a resort with the beauty and amenities but just a short walk from town.
You can’t swim in the ocean. But I knew that ahead of time so it was no big deal.

Very nice resort, great scenery pools are large and lots of seating
Construction ongoing within hotel during stay including at night and early morning. Room should’ve been discounted. Can’t swim in the ocean at the resort because it’s dangerous, wish had known that ahead of time as it is not mentioned on their site. Charged extra for every little thing.

The good resort and the facility offered overall service that exceeded my expectations. Activities in daytime and nighttime were various. Nice music and outdoor events! There were multiple onsite restaurants offered different cuisines. Within 10 minutes, you could take a walk to other local beach to swim by the sea or to the downtown with many shops and restaurants to enjoy holidays!
We cannot go swimming at the Solmar beachfront, where offered extremely pleasant view and the neat sand beach! Our package included the breakfast, which excluded the water bottle and which offered buffet or the breakfast menu set with the juice or the fruit.

Big property with multiple pools, daytime programs, tennis court, gym, Minigolf etc, quiet at night, beautiful views of the beach, friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, fantastic bed and linens
The prices for drinks and food are way too high, l'd recommend taking the 10 minute walk or uber to the pier/ city. I understand to pay for the convenience of the resort but you're not even allowed to bring your own drinks to the pool area.
Also note there are currently 3 buildings being remodeled which causes some noise and dust during the day.

You needed to be a mountain goat to get in nd out of the shower. Very dangerous design with deadly metal rails for the glass sliding door positioned in such a way that a slip would result in a terrible cut. Crazy design.

Hotel Playa Grande is a beautiful property—huge, with several pools and great facilities, all overlooking the ocean at the far end. The hotel is conveniently located near the Marina and El Médano Beach, where you can easily catch boats to the Arch.
We were welcomed with delicious margaritas, which was a lovely touch. Our room, a Deluxe Junior Suite with two patios, was very spacious and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped as well.
A special mention goes to the amazing fragrance in the reception hall—we loved it so much that we ended up buying it from the hotel spa. All the staff members were warm, friendly, and very helpful.
The room above us had some renovations going on, so we were woken up by that noise.
