Serengeti Villa is a little self-contained oasis with funky African decor. The food is delicious and served on beautiful platters like artwork by the lovely kitchen ladies. After dinner you can sit by the fire with one of Frank’s ‘Serengeti Special’ cocktails.
Frank, the manager, makes everything easy. He organised pick-up from the shuttle bus and someone to come and do our simcards at the property. He also organised a private tour for us out to a traditional Maasai boma with the exceptional guide Goodluck and driver Frank. Goodluck also took us to a Maasai cattle market, a Tanzanian lunch and to the Art Gallery.
I loved my cute treehouse bungalow with its little verandah.
Water pressure in shower is not very strong.

First, the property is gorgeous, full of trees, plants and flowers, a relaxing area, a nice bar and a firepit. The owner and staff are very nice and helpful, the room looked really nice, both breakfast and dinner were delicious (and big) and they have two very cute cats.

We stayed here for one night before leaving for Safari and came back after that for another night. They kept our two big backpacks so that we didn’t have to bring everything with us and they also gave us the same room when we got back.
Location is great, slightly out of Arusha centre and hidden from the main road, so it’s pretty quiet. We loved the Villa and its atmosphere, from the rooms, to the outdoor area where there’s everything you might need to just chill comfortably for an entire day.
Room was spacious, clean and equipped with everything. Also hot water worked perfectly.
Breakfast was good and very rich. We also had dinner twice, varied and rich, it was also nice to eat there meeting other guests.
Staff was super kind, helpful and very responsive.
Bonus points from a cat lover was to have around the two cats of the house, Simba and Señorita.
Asante sana for everything!
Bring an hairdryer with you, they had one but unfortunately it stopped blowing hot air after a few minutes, though I’m sure they’ll get a new one. Besides that, I just wish we stayed longer!

The walls of the hut we stayed in were paper thin and we had the pleasure to experience a complete Sunday sermon from the nearby church with a pastor preaching at the top of his lungs, augmented by a microphone for *many* hours on end. There was then in general a high level of noise pollution for the rest of our stay. Accommodation in actual buildings is also offered but I guess this must have been fully booked. The location is not close to the center and felt a bit off.

This was the second time we stayed here - the hosts were happy to store our luggage and even did laundry for us which we collected on return for an affordable price. We were getting the bus to Nairobi the next morning and the host helped us as he knew and was able to contact the shuttle bus company. We were also able to have breakfast early before our trip!

This is a super little place at the bottom of quite a grubby alley way. Once inside the gates however, the Villa is very welcoming and kept clean with charming touches everywhere such as plants and original paintings.
The owners and staff are especially helpful and go the extra mile.
Our ‘bungalow’ was actually just a room with an outside sitting area. The room was good but was badly planned. The seating area inside the room should have been on the wall away from the bed as its proximity to the bed made it very difficult to get in and around the bed. The mattress was comfy enough but the wooden bed base was at least 6” wider which left sharp edges on which to hit your shins and scrape your legs.
The dinner and breakfast were delicious and plentiful. Big downside was only providing instant coffee and, after breakfast, running out of milk. The Villa needs to provide ground coffee for breakfast and after dinner. Most of their clients will be European and this is expected.
We liked the swing seats at the bar and sitting around the open fire after dinner. We liked the cats who were there but not in the way.
Bedroom furniture arrangement- see above. Instant coffee. Thin towels and only one each. No hand towel provided.

Lovely little place for a stay in Arusha to explore the surrounding area. It is quiet enough at night, still the location is central enough to make it attractive for day trips to nearby sights like the Arusha National Park, Lake Duluti, Materuni, the Chencho Hot Springs or the Maasai villages in the north of Arusha. Arusha downtown with it's big market hall can be reached via a short tuk tuk ride.
The Villa's bar area is a great place to spend the evening with a campfire beautifully surrounded by tropical plants. There are ony 7 rooms so it never get's too crowded.
My room was big and comfortable. But what makes this guesthouse really stand out is the staff. It's a family business and everybody is extremely helpful and friendly. Everything you need (airport transfers, day trips, a SIM card etc.) can easily be arranged to a fair price.
The super delicious homecooked meals are an other highlight (both breakfast and dinner) with fresh ingredients and fruits :)

We booked Serengeti Villas for the night after our trek on Kilimanjaro but ended up coming off the mountain a day earlier. We were able to stay that night too and although we didn't get there til very late we were greeted warmly. The room had a fan, bed was comfy and there were plenty of charging plugs. The whole property was incredibly clean. Unlike other places we stayed in Tanzania we didn't run out of hot water - apparently to do with solar panels the owners have installed to make power cuts less of an issue.
The breakfast was beautifully presented on a large platter and the freshly made smoothie was delicious. We got speaking to the owner and when we told him we were going for a walk he gave recommendations of what to do in Arusha. We also took the advice of our safari tour guide who visited us to brief on what the next day had in store and went to the BBQ place over the road from the accommodation - it was brilliant eating with the locals - it felt like a hybrid bar, cafe, restaurant with music videos on the tvs and local people walking through selling shirts, bananas and other nik naks.
The second night we had the tasting menu - a bargain at $10 each and we enjoyed some wine from the bar too.
I wish we had more time to enjoy sitting on the swings by the fire pit and relaxing on the outdoor sun loungers which were shaded, amongst flowering plants and even had charging plugs nearby. We genuinely could have stayed longer, the whole place felt like a little oasis.

Lovely little place that feels like more of a homestay than a hostel. Frank, Mary, Jenny and others will definitely make you feel like their “dada” (sister) or “kaka” (brother) when you stay here. Family owned and run place with a nice bonfire, home-cooked meals, and a friendly atmosphere really is so much better than booking a hotel if you want a more authentic experience!

Our stay at the Serengeti Villa was incredible! From the kind and helpful staff; to the well decorated, comfortable accommodations; to the delectable range of food and drinks; everything was a five star experience.
We stayed two nights—one at the beginning of our safari and another at the end—and we wished we had stayed longer! They accommodated flexible check in times, held our luggage during our safari, and made warm camp fires each night to hang with the staff and other guests.
We would stay here again in a heart beat and recommend to anyone traveling through Arusha to do the same.

I stayed in a room that looked like a loft. The room was very cute and the Villa had cute cats, which I really liked. There was an area outside the room to relax and coffee, tea, and water were provided.
They also prepared a lovely breakfast. There was plenty of fruit and it was delicious. Also, all the staff were very friendly and we got some great pictures!

From far this was my favorite place in Tanzania. The hotel is beautifully designed and decorated, many natural plants and artworks. The room is comfortable and shower was with hot water. The meals are so delicious! It’s worth it joining the Swahili dinner offered by the property. I am vegetarian and they replaced meat for an omelette. Very nice experience.

After a very busy two weeks of mountain climbing and safari it was delightful to have a little corner to call my own. The bungalow was comfortable and well appointed. I really liked being able to sit on my porch and enjoy a cup of tea. Meeting other travelers in the common area was also a highlight.
Honestly, the towels. They're micro fiber. That would be fine but I prefer a towel that is more absorbent and actually dries you off.

I stayed in the private room and it was very nice, everything I needed as a solo traveler. The staff was the best though, always with a smile on their faces willing to help you. The staff were so friendly, and the welcome drink was really special, a watermelon and ginger juice! Unusual but surprisingly tasty. The owner helped us arrange rides into town, and the prices were the most reasonable we’ve found anywhere in Tanzania. Dinner was also great, especially the rice! As someone who grew up eating rice every day in China, I’d say this is easily in my top three rice experiences ever, absolutely recommend!
The shower water pressure was a bit weak, but it’s understandable, at least there was plenty of hot water till the end!

We arrived unannounced, early in the morning (4 am local time). Shortly after our arrival (like 5 min) they arranged a room for us and made no problems! The hosts and all staff members were really friendly and kind to us! The accommodation is clan and tidy and ladies working there are making sure everything is in order. Every evening they lighted up bonfire, which made the atmosphere really cozy.
The location of Serengeti villa is really good, close to the main road towards city centre, yet isolated enough not to hear traffic noise, there is a small supermarket super nearby which was great to buy bottled water and some snacks.
They offer an option of a local dinner which was a great experience! The breakfast is served in large quantity and surely enough to be full.
My personal preference would be to serve some yogurt and muesli for breakfast as well (not critical ;) )

Friendly and clean. Room tip: the bungalow is more private and slightly bigger than the rooms, but no sound insulation and so you hear everything outside (church singing and nearby partying which went all night until 4 am on the weekend). Also friendly cats who would happily nestle up in your lap.
The shower was not separate, and so after use the entire bathroom floor would be wet. No refillable drinking water. Only two small bottled water provided at check-in but you can purchase extra.

We’ve stayed in many places throughout Kenya and Tanzania and this was one of our favorites. Such a lovely settings! An oasis of lush greenery that makes you feel right at home. The staff were all so warm and friendly. The food was excellent! And even though it is fairly close to the bustle of Arusha - you don’t hear any of the road noise. We all LOVED our stay.
