Stayed at this hotel after a safari and too bad it was only for one night before my flight. This hostel is beautiful with great customer service and amenities. My room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with some extra little touches of Swahili style, I mean African style. The local food served at the restaurants was well prepared and a great selection. They offer airport pickup and drop off with reasonable price and the staff are excellent

Its a very cute place! We went there after our safari, and it was the best place to calm down. The rooms look amazing with a lot of lovley details. The shower is warm and the food is amazing! The staff was welcoming us with a juice and we were very glad that chose that acommondation.

I am sure the area is typical of many in Arusha and once you get used to it , it's fine. We arrived after a 10 hour drive past Natron, exhausted. Wonderful place.

The place is too small. It has a tiny courtyard and when all rooms are occupied, there is no place to sit outside quietly. There is absolutely no privacy. The staff knocked at my door at 7 am to ask what our plans for the day are. If you want a home stay type of place it is fine, otherwise I would avoid.

The location is ok and walking distance (although it takes a little while) to the center. There are small (grocery) shops close by. We also enjoyed breakfast and dinner, which was always very tasty. The bonfire was also great. We can recommend staying here! :)

Breakfast and dinner is more than you can eat, and is delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The food is really good, the only downside is that there is only one dish. So if you stay longer you have to eat somewhere else, but other restaurants are quite far away.

The location perfect and is located in a lovely village just outside of Arusha town but close to everything. The restaurant/bar/lounge is very comfortable - we spent a full afternoon lounging, reading, and drinking wine with reasonable price, the ladies working here they're more than family, they decorate our room with lovely fresh flower and treat good than those 4 star lodge we have stayed during our safari. I wish it was able to be closed up as I could hear everything going on in the villa which was only a problem in the early morning & late at night.

They have flushing toilets and hot showered all in private bathroom.They also have a restaurant that serves food and drinks that is reasonably priced. This is a great place for stay or to relax. Make sure don’t forget to order Swahili dinner in advance before 2 pm, its have a lot of variety so they need to start to prepare early and everything is organic and fresh, our best food we eat entire our life!

Everything was amazing. The entire facility was very cozy and the decor was cute. The food was amazing. We had the optional dinner as well and it was well worth it. All the ladies that work there were very helpful and welcoming. We wanted to stay longer but they didn’t have any vacancy so we had to move to another location. The bonfire at night is nice and relaxing as well.
The location is not walkable from the main city so you will need a tuktuk or a boda to get there. But that being said, it is more quiet and relaxing because it is not in the city.

Swahili Villa is a gem in Arusha.
This place is only around 10-15 min by tuk-tuk to the center of the city, so very good location!
The place is small, only 4-5 rooms, and it is taken care by a group of 4 amazing girls that treated us very kindly. They are excellent cooks, and very good company - we enjoyed talks in the fireplace with them, and the two baby cats Simba and Señorita.
Breakfast and dinner are delicious and abundant, and you can try many typical food from Tanzania.
On the first day we had a late arrival and they waited for us and cooked us some dinner, that was very nice from the girls :)
We really enjoyed our time in Swahili Villa and would recommend it to everyone that is staying in the city for one or a few days.

Swahili Villa is a small place but it has everything you need. The bed is comfy and the room is clean. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into decorations.
The breakfast was plentiful and tasty! You can request dinner for $10/person. We dined there both nights of our stay. They cook local dishes which were absolutely delicious. The best part however where the girls who run the place. They are super sweet! It felt like staying with friends :)
The location is a bit outside of Arusha city center which was fine for us because we already had trips booked so we were picked up and dropped off there. If you want to stay in the city center (or have it be walkable), this place isn't for you.
There is no A/C, only a fan.
